Transformative reads and the extraordinary Telepathy Tapes.
When I took my career leap and began sharing more about my spiritual growth, many people asked about the books that shaped my path. In February 2023, inspired by these questions, I shared an Instagram story highlighting the books that had profoundly impacted me. These weren’t just words on a page; they were guideposts, gentle nudges from the universe, and companions on my journey toward living with more purpose, intention, and love.
As I’ve transitioned into the Substack world, I’ve often reflected on that post, knowing I’d eventually share those recommendations here. However, my recent binge-listening to The Telepathy Tapes created an urgency to revisit and expand this list now.
This podcast reignited my sense of wonder at the magic of the universe—God, love, and the unexplained (by traditional science) yet undeniably divine. It also brought up my own experiences in this space, which I plan to share in future posts. For now, The Telepathy Tapes earns its place on this list, alongside the books that have guided and grounded me.
I hope these inspire you as they’ve inspired me.
1. The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein
This book was a turning point. It gave me the confidence to use the language of the universe and fully embrace the idea that we are universally and forever connected.
I’ve always believed in energy—the power of the universe, Mother Earth, God, or however you define it—and this book reminded me that it’s okay to lean into those beliefs. Gabrielle Bernstein taught me to lead with love, a mantra that’s transformed how I live and make decisions.
One lesson from this book stays with me: “Our happiness is a direct reflection of how quickly we can restore our fear back to love.” This reminder still anchors me, years later.
2. The Untethered Soul and The Surrender Experiment by Michael Singer
These two books come as a pair and are, quite simply, beautiful.
The Untethered Soul challenges you to explore what’s beyond yourself, offering profound insights about freedom, peace, and letting go. Its companion, The Surrender Experiment, is a deeply personal story of how surrendering to life’s flow can lead to unimaginable growth and transformation.
3. Signs: The Secret Language of the Universe by Laura Lynne Jackson
I read this book around the 10th anniversary of my dad’s passing, and it was exactly what I needed.
This is a book about love, hope, and the magic of being open to the signs around us. Since reading it, I’ve noticed countless signs in my own life—moments of connection and meaning that have opened my heart to something greater.
It’s a reminder that even in grief, there is beauty and guidance if we’re willing to see it.
4. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
This timeless story about pursuing your personal legend couldn’t have come at a better time.
A few days before Christmas last year, I picked up a mystery book from a holiday display at my local bookstore, Whose Books. On Christmas morning, I unwrapped it to find the 25th anniversary edition of The Alchemist.
At first, I was disappointed—I’d read it before. But then it hit me: maybe this was a sign to read it again.
This book is a guide for following your heart and trusting the journey. It reminded me that sometimes, the right answers come when we’re willing to revisit what we already know.
5. Atomic Habits by James Clear
This one is practical, yes, but also deeply reflective.
Combined with the soul-searching books on this list, Atomic Habits helped me rethink my identity—not just who I wanted to be, but who I already was. It also inspired my recent Substack: How 1% Changes Transformed My Life.
Building habits isn’t just about goals; it’s about aligning with your true self. James Clear’s wisdom gave me a framework for making small, meaningful changes that led to big, life-altering shifts.

6. The March 2022 Issue of The Atlantic: "How to Build a Life"
Pure gold.
The entire March 2022 issue challenged me to rethink what I want in life, highlighting how happiness doesn’t come from more but from less—less distraction, less chasing, and more gratitude. Timely and transformative, filled with practical wisdom on how fulfillment stems from gratitude and intention.
7. The Telepathy Tapes (Podcast)
This podcast blew me away.
It explores the spiritual and telepathic abilities of non-speaking autistic individuals, offering profound lessons on love, connection, and the divine.
Listen with an open mind.
While the focus is on the autistic community, the lessons are universal. Each of us has felt the divine, the unexplained, and what feels like magic in our lives. Whether we call it God, the universe, or consciousness, this podcast invites us to open our hearts to something greater.
For me, The Telepathy Tapes breathed new life into my understanding of love and the divine. It’s a reminder that even as humans—brilliant as we are—there’s so much we don’t know. Being open to the unknown is a gift.
A Thread of Courage and Love
These books and podcasts aren’t just about personal growth; they’re about leading with love. They’ve reminded me that small, intentional steps—1%s—are how we change ourselves and the world around us.
If you’re contemplating a leap or searching for inspiration, I hope this list offers guidance, courage, and connection.
Now, I’d love to hear from you: What books, podcasts, or experiences have inspired your journey? Share them with me—I’m always looking for the next guidepost.
